CONNER PRAIRIE HISTORY PARK, 2011

Another fully immersive storytelling extravaganza, this uses two theatres and the redressing of a large section of the open air museum to tell the story of Morgan’s Raid, the only raid by Confederates into the northern states. Once again, we used turntables, reveals, several screens with specially made film, falling trees, collapsing shelves, sleight of hand on behalf of docents, sculpted figures modelled on our actors, ‘burning’ buildings and even a cannon that (apparently!) ends the show by blasting a hole in the theatre’s outside wall. Invigorating fun – based on original first-hand evidence and full historical research.

All the scenery was built by my team in a large Yorkshire barn and shipped to Indiana.
